What did you do this past week?

This week is the busiest week so far this semester. It took me two whole days to do the project for the Computer Networks. For some reasons, the bug from threading part is really hard to find and fix. My partner and I work till 3am in the morning and we both have class in six hours. We are still working on it while I taking a break to write this blog. I want to refresh my brain for a while.

What’s in your way?

Time management is probably in my way right now. I got sick last week, so there were lots of things I need to catch up. It is going to be a no-movie, no-friends and tough weekend for me.

What will you do next week?

There is a test next Monday. After that I should be working on the project for this class since the Phase 1 deadline is October 4th. We have chosen a topic. Then, we will have a short meeting to clarify everybody’s role.

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #5: Pair Programming?

Pair Programming is great! More people can come up with more ideas than one person. We could share different points of view. However, we have to be responsible. Don’t do the project alone. Two brains always better than one. That’s why we are doing Hackerrank exercise within a group.

What was your experience of Python’s object model, list, tuple, set, dict, and iterators? (this question will vary, week to week)

I am quite familiar with list in Python but not others. Professor Downing just went deep and taught us details behind those data structures. When we are using them in programs, we should remember them and without searching for a documentation.

What made you happy this week?

I would probably say I get better and better each day made me happy this week. I was coughing the whole time and even lost my voice for three days. It was torture.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Don’t start the project at the last minute. I start a project right after it was posted and turned it in 3 minutes before the deadline. I have a lot of things going on this week and most of them are unexpected.Besides, I was sick this week. I never thought that I could sleep for 14 hours. It just happened. So do the homework as early as possible.
